Amazon.com Review
For uniform lemon rind shreds, this is the perfect grater. Its design is based on that of a rasp, the small and efficient woodworking tool. The cutters are especially sharp, which guarantees easy grating. But this also means you'll need to exercise extra caution--no one likes grated knuckles. The totally flat grating surface makes it easy to move the fruit across the blades, while the rounded edges allow you to set this across the top of a bowl and grate directly into it. Ginger and all citrus fruits worked beautifully with this zester, and the tiny size of individual pieces means you won't need to do any additional chopping. --Jill Lightner

5 out of 5 stars fantastic and very useful   September 6, 2010
Sarah Katzenell
I never would have bought this for myself, so I'm lucky that my mom bought me one. It is much more useful than I first thought. I grate citrus peel, parmesan, garlic and (frozen or fresh) ginger on this. It has stayed super-sharp (I've had it for ~5 years) and goes through the dishwasher with no problem. It's not the most comfortable thing to hold, but that is a very minor inconvenience, and hasn't stopped me from using it almost daily.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Great for nutmeg   May 6, 2010

I've only used this as a nutmeg grater - as it is the same model Alton Brown uses in his shows - and works perfectly fine. I would assume it would work equally well with other items.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to add some nutmeg in their dishes.

5 out of 5 stars Great Zester   April 14, 2010

I like to watch Rachel Ray every morning and she uses a zester for her onions, garlic and fruit to add a little "zest" to her dishes. It is great for onions and garlic so you don't have chunks of them, just the taste in your recipes.

A little long for storage, but very sharp and does the job!

5 out of 5 stars Best zester ever!   February 10, 2010

I love this device--it makes zesting orange or lemon peel a breeze. This product creates very fine shavings--excellent for chocolate too! I bought for several family members--every kitchen should have this product.
